This is a reading of the exact words in the written volume 2, which bears the same name. A fine introduction of the world for young minds that is ideal to have in the car for those long trips because adults can also enjoy, learn or review the history of civilizations that had been on earth before us all. It is good to remember such history. As George Santayana wrote in The Life of Reason: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

My kids (7&9 years) & I are loving listening to this audio set - we have listened in the car for hours on end and sometimes pull into the garage and stay in the car as we wait to hear the end of a story. We are reading A Childs History of the World and it was a good decision to get SOTW in audio as an accompaniment for review.

Initially I was dissapointed with the strong accent of the narrator (we are not American), but now am so impressed with Jim Weiss' narration and story telling that I have ordered more of his audio products.

The Ullrich Family

These audio cds are wonderful. We have a child with a middle school aged child with a reading delay. The cds allow her to listen to the great content in the book instead of having to read it. The narrator is interesting and the style of the book is engaging.
