I can tell it has been updated. I like the back where you can copy stuff. BUT the map work isn't as fun or easy to follow as the original books.

Bias history
If you love history to be revealed, truthfully, for what was, you may want to get another curriculum. The part of history on the Reformation was blatantly pro-Catholic.
It is historically proven that the Catholic church murdered and put to death more people than any other time period, yet it is taught in this book that the Reformation was the cause of all problems during the middle ages. Whatever!

I hated History when I was a kid. It was dry and boring reading about a bunch of dead guys and memorizing dates. But Story of the world is fun and entertaining and the activities give my kids a feeling of existing during the time & in the culture they're reading about. Now, when are you going to release the activity books on CD??? That would give them the other 1/2 star!

We like these activity books. They give a hands-on element to the accompanying books. We use this with older kids, so some alternate activities for older kids would be great. It takes some work to get items together for the activities, some sort of list with what you need for each week would be good. Love the maps and geography that goes with it and the coloring pages make for a nice journal cover.
