The Greatest Story Ever Told is more than just a cliché. God has gone to great lengths to rescue lost and hurting people. That is what The Story is all about: the story of the Bible, Gods great love affair with humanity. Condensed into 31 accessible chaptersand using the clear, accessible text of the NIVthis rendering of the Bible allows its stories, poems, and teachings to come together in a single, compelling read. The Story sweeps you into the unfolding grand narrative of the Scriptures, and like any good story, it is filled with intrigue, drama, conflict, romance, and redemption. From the foreword by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee: This book tells the grandest, most compelling story of all time: the story of a true God who loves his children, who established for them a way of salvation and provided a route to eternity. Each story in these 31 chapters reveals the God of gracethe God who speaks; the God who acts; the God who listens; the God whose love for his people culminated in his sacrifice of Jesus, his only Son, to atone for the sins of humanity. NIV ©2011. The New International Version (NIV) translation of the Bible is the worlds most popular modern-English Bibleeasy to understand, yet rich with the detail found in the original languages.

KEN5 Stars Out Of 5THE STORYOctober 27, 2015KENQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Excellent chronological Bible. I have purhased 12 copies and have given them away to relatives and my Bible Study Group. Our church is doing the study with sermons to co-inside. Easy way to read the whole Bible in a short time.
Cherokee5 Stars Out Of 5Review of The StoryOctober 9, 2015CherokeeQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0The Story is an excellent piece of literature as is all of Max Lucado's books. God had been working with me to read the Bible as separate books not to become so overwhelmed by the daunting task of reading the Bible but to concentrate on smaller pieces of the larger Book. When I saw the ad for The Story, who the author was and the low price, I purchased it. The formatting of The Story fit the bill, I even find myself wanting to learn more scriptures because the task at hand is less daunting and more enjoyable. I have and will continue to recommend The Story to friends.
Barbara3 Stars Out Of 5NIV 2011June 5, 2015BarbaraQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0NIV 2011 James 1:7-8 "That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." I think it is unnecessary to have to resort to bad grammar. Dealing with the word "man" as mankind and explanation of when the passage means "men/brothers" or "brothers and sisters" etc. in the Preface would be sufficient.
Annie5 Stars Out Of 5Except for the paper it's printed on ....May 11, 2015AnnieQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5I wish I had found this Bible a long time ago. It's so easy to read. I find myself reading for longer periods of time because the story flows like .... a story. The selected Scripture readings make up the greater part of the Bible/book, but the brief summaries that fill in "in-between" make it a smooth flowing chronological story. Reading this Bible is a great way to get the BIG PICTURE in a condensed book.
My only complaint about this Bible is the quality of the paper they've used. It's not like typical Bible paper; it's something cheaper looking yet functional. I assume it was used to cut down on the cost. It's a lightweight book. The imitation leather cover looks nice. I would recommend this book despite it's quality. I very much enjoy reading The Story Bible.
