Tell us a little about yourself. I am now an empty-nester and not too happy about it! One daughter is married and the other is in college. I grew up in Atlanta, GA., one of 7 children! I love the whole concept of families: being together, supporting each other, etc. I love the outdoors, all sports, reading, writing, Bible studies, decorating and my girls!
What was your motivation behind this project? Mainly, it is to encourage Moms who will get discouraged at some point(s) during their mothering years. I loved being a MOM! But raising them was difficult at times; hard; depressing; and at times feeling like I had failed, along with guilt and hopelessness. I wanted to compile a book that would cover all aspects of being a MOM: along with how to recover their own person.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Moms of today are overwhelmed with all that is required in raising children ALONG with keeping up with a job, the home, meals, laundry, errands, activities. My prayer is that Moms will gain a better perspective on what is and isn't important each day; how to really minister to their children amongst the day to day grind. I want them to gain JOY! in being a Mom.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I speak to many Moms across the country and so my main source of inspiration in writing this is for all the precious Moms out there who are trying so hard but feeling like failures in different areas.
