Tell us a little about yourself.  Hello, fellow book lover. My family and I live in the country, north of Houston, Texas. We've watched the cedar trees around our yard grow tall over the last 30 years. Just as they are, we're firmly rooted in this blackland soil. I write for The Courier, a local newspaper, once a week. I strive to keep the columns inspirational rather than preachy, confessional rather than pointing the finger. I also like to include a smidgen of humor, but the column where I described the devil as riding on a Harley almost got me into trouble with Harley owners. But they calmed when I told them the old beast would most likely ride on the best, and that's why I chose a Harley. I enjoy many things besides writing such as reading, teaching Bible classes or poking around at antique fairs. However, I rarely add to my tea pot collection these days. I'd rather be crafting words, going out with my husband, or playing with the grandchildren rather than dusting baubles.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  My passion is to share how Jesus life-supports Christians each day, how God is intimately involved in lives, even if our eyes are not wide open to his fingerprints on our days. I hope The Stained Glass Pickup will aid readers in their every day lives and lift ancestor mantled guilt if it's weighing anyone down. I want readers' walk with God energized. I really should say "run" with God because many are in a steady trot because we allow ourselves to be caught up in our culture, the buying frenzy, the keeping up with technology. I want people to know it's OK to scale back on buying, possessing, being, doing. But I want them to go beyond realization to making these scaled down dreams come true. Dreams of less not more, so we can be more, do more and have more but through his gifts not our own efforts.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Yes, when you read The Stained Glass Pickup, please come back by and leave a message or review. And thanks for stopping by.
