Lauraine Snelling is an award-winning author with over 75 published titles including two horse series for kids. Kathleen Wright was "Mrs. Write" to her Christian homeschoolers, ages 10 to 17, whom she taught for many years. When she's not dreaming up adventures for her characters, she's riding bikes with her husband, playing pickle ball, and trying to convince her rescued Border Collie that Mom knows best.
IreneUnited States5 Stars Out Of 5A fun story with lessons too!April 23, 2012IreneUnited StatesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What a fun book to read. The story is interesting as well as entertaining. There is much to learn from this book, things like teamwork, friendship and even celebrating your differences. The story revolves around a group of girls, with Aneta Jasper as the main character.
Even though I was an adult reading a book written for the late elementary age group, I still really enjoyed this story. I liked how the characters related to each other. I liked the project they work on together as it made the story more interesting. I would definitely let my child read this book! I gave the book a 5/5 stars because there is really nothing negative I could say about this book!
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
gjo50TexasAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Awesome New Pre-Teen SeriesFebruary 12, 2012gjo50TexasAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Anita Jesper was an orphan in the Ukraine until she is adopted by ‘Mom,' an attorney, into the Jesper family. Anita is afraid; afraid that is she makes a mistake, she will be sent back, afraid that she will make mistakes speaking in English, afraid that the other girls will make fun of her, especially Melissa who already takes every opportunity to ridicule her. Then Anita wins a poster contest putting her on a committee to create a fund raising event. The group made up of girls who have trouble working as a group, until they witness a woman tossing a wiggling bag into the lake. Each girl uses her strength to save the basset hound, and the group goes on to not only plan and produce an incredible fund raising event, but to save litters of basset hounds from the clutches of unethical handlers, at the same time developing their strengths and creating deep friendships.
Great story, well developed characters, with enough diversity that every girl can find herself in one of them. Faith plays a large roll in the story, as the characters grow and learn about the world and strong relationships. I recommend this for any pre-teen girl that seeks acceptance, adventure, and fun.
