Charles Haddon Spurgeon served for thirty years as preacher and pastor of London's six-thousand-seat Metropolitan Tabernacle, which his growing congregation opened in 1861. His writings, including thousands of sermons, are still popular with pastors and devotional readers.

Qaulity of print was so bad by Baker printing that I wouldn't recommend buying this book series unless these people get another printing company. Every other letter was literally gone. I really wanted this series, Spurgeon is a must read.

First off, I'll just say that this work is very good. I read this regularly as both an academic resource and devotional. Spurgeon offers the perfect mix of passion, poetry, humor, and a hard-hitting no compromise slap you in the face presentation of God's truth and Gospel message in 5 wonderful volumes. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of five is due to the less than perfect print. Highly recommended!

With every Spurgeon sermon you get in abundance: great insight into the orthodox Reformation faith, beautiful uplifting language, practical application of the Biblical text, and a clear presentation of the distinction between law and gospel. My weekly time spent reading Spurgeon is for me to be transported back to the New Park Strret Chapel or the Mmetropolitan Tabernacle in Victorian London, hearing Mr. Spurgeon expound the Word of God.

A absolutely wonderful set of sermons from the "Prince of preachers!" Spurgeon was well-versed in the scriptures, as can be noted in the sermons he preached. A must for anyone's library.

I didn't have to review this, I know Charles Spurgeon is fantastic.
However, the price for this product was more than fair, at least $30.00 less that other stores.

These sermons by Charles Spurgeon have been extremely encouraging to me. We are very grateful that this resource is available. I do not agree with the Calvinist doctrine, but regardless these sermons will be of great value to any child of God. There is a definite statement in virtually every sermon of how precious a relationship is with Jesus Christ.
