I have read only Parts 1 and 2 of The Spreading Flame series, but I highly recommend it. This part, Story of the Bible, is a very fine and inspiring account of those in England and Scotland who did so much and suffered so much also that true Christians might have the Word of God in their own language. I learned much about Wycliffe, Tyndale, and others in England, but also about three Scottish reformers whose names I had never even heard! (John Knox is covered in the next part.) The historic places shown and the scenery are very helpful. The only mildly negative point--for me--was the narrating style of Gordon Fulton. His words are just fine, but his speaking style is very dramatic. I appreciated the speaking of the Church historians in the episodes more. I see that Fulton is an actor, so that probably explains it. And considering the informative value of The Spreading Flame, this problem is very minor and can be easily ignored.
