This short book is one of the best I have ever read! JEZEBEL IS LOOKED AT THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, REVEALED FOR ALL TO SEE SO THAT WHEN YOU SEE THE SPIRIT, YOU WILL RECOGNIZE IT. The spirit of Jezebel has only one goal, to kill your focus on God. No man can serve 2 masters, so her goal is to flatter and charm you into being a me person instead of focusing on God and gods glory. In todays market, she has no problem at all. You cannot defeat an evil spirit if you don't see it or recognize it for what it is; this book plays a big key in helping people to see it and know it when they see it. Her objective is to get you drunk on power, and on patting yourself on the back so you wont concentrate on God and Gods glory and what God wants you to do. The author makes me recall a friend in a bad marriage; everyone else can see that she doesn't love him and married him for his money but he loves her for the way she dotes on him and makes him feel special and he wont listen to anyone tell him that she is pulling him under...sound familiar? we all someone who is in need of this book but how do you give advice like he/she is no good for you? YOU CANT, YOU DONT!! YOU GIVE THEM A COPY OF THIS BOOK SO THEY CAN DISCOVER FOR THEMSELVES!!!!
I received a free copy of this book from Chosen book in exchange for writing a review, but that does not mean the book got a positive review- the book earned its own review. It is a good book and well worth the money and it could save a friend of yours. Maybe it could save you! I read this book in a day but have reread it several times. I am reminded of Deliah and Jezebel at the same time.
The Spiritual Warrior's Guide To Defeating Jezebel by Jennifer LeClaire is the best study on this subject that I have read. Too often, studies of the spirit of Jezebel only focus on the control and manipulation aspect, and it usually is directed to women. Actually, the spirit of Jezebel can manifest itself as male or female, and is not only a manipulator but also a seducer, quick to encourage to sin through immorality and idolatry, and ultimately wreak havoc in the body of Christ.
This book is written to the Church, the body of Christ, those who are following Jesus. It is a warning to heed, instruction on how to guard against, and practical examples to effectively engage in warfare against this threat. In eleven chapters, the author takes the reader through the first appearance of this spirit in Scripture through Jesus' warning to the Church in Revelation. Jennifer LeClair also exposes the circus-like atmosphere that is often created by those extremists seeking to find Jezebel, and the scriptural authority that every church who states Jesus is Lord should practice.
Two questions that are answered in this book are: What is the spirit of Jezebel and what is it's true agenda? A main point is that Jezebel goes largely unidentified in the Church because of the distorted teachings on the Grace of God. Often false accusations are made against innocent people while the real enemy largely goes unnoticed.
A really good point that the author makes is that although Jezebel uses control and manipulation in a big way; Jezebel is not a spirit of control. Instead it is a spirit of seduction, whose goal is to lead people; especially believers, into immorality and idolatry. Jennifer also mentioned that we are to recognize and not tolerate Jezebel but we are also not to give it so much attention that we basically exalt it. We are to put our attention on Jesus and exalt him. This book could be used as a study on one side of the fight against this spirit. There are plenty of scriptures and study information. I'm sure there area also people who do not believe in any of this and of course will not consider any of this necessary at all. But like the author said, in the fight to set the captives of Jezebel free; we need to remember that its not a text book spirit; its a real war. One that can be won, with Jesus Christ. Thus preventing a falling away from Jesus, or falling into consuming sin, and death (either spiritual or physical) .
I received this book from Chosen Publishers in exchange for an honest review.
