For the Christian outdoors enthusiast, this DVD features three episodes of Jimmy Sitess popular "Spiritual Outdoor Adventures" television show ("A Look at Life from the Deer Stand," "Bruiser Bucks of the Texas Hill Country," "Never Give Up"). Special guests include author Steve Chapman at Legends Ranch in Michigan, CMere Deer developer Ivan Hawthorn in the hill country of south Texas, and a father/son group in Saskatchewans Boreal Forest.
In "A Look at Life from a Deer Stand," Chapmans insights into the Christian life are as solid as his bow hunting skills. "Bruiser Bucks" includes a discussion about Gods trophy room, and "Never Give Up" shows how God sees us through all things, always making us successful in the end.
Other bonus content includes a special "How to Tune Your Bow" demonstration with Matt McPherson from Mathews Bows, Christian testimony from missionary Steve Saint and Mincaye (the Waodani tribesman from Ecuador who killed Saints father), and a prayer for salvation led by Sites,
Jimmy Sites is host of "Spiritual Outdoor Adventures," a national television and radio program that combines hunting interests with the Christian life. In addition to his expert outdoorsman skills, Jimmy holds advanced degrees from Harding Graduate School of Religion (M.Div.) and Abilene Christian University (D.Min.), has served as a Compassion International spokesperson since 1991, and is a pastor at New River Fellowship in Franklin, Tennessee. Sites and his wife have two children and live near Nashville.
Robert Daneker5 Stars Out Of 5February 20, 2008Robert DanekerThoroughly enjoyed meeting Dr. Jimmy Sites via this video, which is apparently based on some of the TV broadcasts he must be doing. Sadly the programs are not included on any of the channels available via our local cable company. Since our congregation uses an annual Hunters' Banquet in January, using all kinds of fish and wild game for the dinner, as a way to reach out to the "unchurched" sportsmen and women in our area, we will be sure to use segments of the video at them. It was especially interesting to me that at the beginning of each broadcast segment a clip is shown with contemporary Christian musician Michael W. Smith in his camo gear with his shotgun in hand. Since my son is a regular keyboard player with MWS, and we've been able to visit his farm, the video had extra meaning to us. The segment that showed Dr. Site's visit to the location where Nate Saint and other missionaries were martyred years ago is especially valuable.
