Publisher's Description

For more than sixteen years, veteran journalist J. Lee Grady has kept a finger on the pulse of the charismatic and Pentecostal renewal, which restored the power of the Holy Spirit to the church, but which now suffers from abuse. Since many Spirit-empowered believers have lost their original focus and purity, Grady delves into some of the problems that plague churches and ministries: financial scandal, faulty theology, moral failure, and more.

Yet the message of this fervent journalist, who loves the gifts of the Spirit, isn't one of condemnation and finger-pointing. Instead it is a clarion call to restore the fire of supernatural anointing with biblical boldness, purity, integrity, humility, truth, justice, and compassion. Grady longs for every believer to find or recover a genuine experience with the Holy Spirit.

Among the topics he addresses are

• the genuine work of the Holy Spirit
• strategies for developing healthy leaders
• how to set up proper accountability structures
• why so many churches and ministries have imploded in recent years

With extraordinary insight, a keen eye for discernment, and a desire to see the church purified and believers empowered, Grady gives a straightforward and ultimately affirming message that will expose the problems and ignite believers with God's fire.

I read this book carefully and came to this conclusion: What Pastor Grady shared was 100% truth and needs to be shouted out LOUD for those of us who do not want to be following infallible men (and women). We have alot of charlatans in the pulpit who are leading folks to hell, and they need to be exposed and we need discernment. He (Grady) was not afraid to name those who have fallen in sin and they continue on to have a "following" and not stepping down for restoration. If we allow this, we are saying that what they did is acceptable...and to God, it's NOT!

I know that many pastors and leaders will have theological problems with (some aspects of)this book, and I have my own (minor) concerns... BUT, I believe with all my heart that this is an important, timely and even prophetic book. I hope and pray that "The Holy Spirit is NOT for Sale" will get into the hands of many believers all over this continent. A powerful powerful read, and a must for pastors everywhere! May God have mercy on us, and may He visit us again with power and with fire! And may all of us (whatever our theological/denominational background) realize and confess that THE great need of the hour is a fresh outpouring of the Spirit from on High! May God bring us to repentance and renewal and grant our churches the revival we so desperately need!
