Tell us a little about yourself. Southern Superstitions is my second Christian romantic suspense. I've been writing and seeing my writing published since the third grade when my story about my pet dog was published in a local newspaper. I'm a mother and grandmother, an avid reader, and a passionate writer. Jesus is my best friend.
What was your motivation behind this project? Mother raised me on a mixture of Southern superstitions and Bible verses, so I thought it'd make a great book topic. I also wanted to illustrate the hard work a farmer goes through to earn an honest living. Most of all, the theme is to put your faith and trust in God and His word, not superstitions.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Have faith and trust in God.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? It brought back many memories, it's the first novel I ever wrote, written in my mother's memory. She never lived to see it published, but my youngest sister read it to her over and over before her death, and she loved it, so seeing this particular novel published really meant so much to me.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Jerry B. Jenkins, Chris Fabry, Lynn Austin, Eva Marie Everson, my writing mentor with the Christian Writers Guild, but most of all the Bible, God's Word, and instruction manual for life. Jesus inspires me, and the book that truly changed my life is the Bible.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I love to write and connect with my readers. It's great to hear feedback. Today, two readers made my day. One told me Last Resort, my first romantic suspense, was great, but Southern Superstitions was even better. The other said she was half finished with Last Resort, and reading it made her heart pound, so she couldn't wait to read Southern Superstitions. She said she went to Amazon and bought it. One reader suggested I write a sequel. I want my readers to know that I write to encourage, inspire, motivate, and entertain, and I love to hear from them and appreciate their support.
