Farm Fresh Southern Cooking by Tammy Algood
If you have been looking for some new recipes to try then you should definitely check out this cookbook! It may be just what you are looking for! Tammy AlgoodâÂÂs cookbook, Farm Fresh Southern Cooking, is a wonderful cookbook that has many lovely recipes. It has things in it from appetizers, soups, salads, sides, breads, entrees, desserts, breakfast and brunch, and even canning instructions! And it has a lot of full page stories spotlighting a certain food like honey, green beans, blueberries, etc. and a wonderful farm that sells it. [and some of them are even about things like some great farmers markets] I think this is a wonderful cookbook with great southern recipes. The recipes are very clearly wrote and were easy to understand. And I love how she has a note wrote above each recipe telling you tips for that recipe, or what it is best served with, etc. Plus I think it was great that they had the canning instructions in the cookbook as well. Some of the recipes even called for a really neat ingredient, like Rutabagas or figs or persimmons etc. And I loved how some of the recipes have a beautiful full page picture to go with them! Like there Basil Biscuits, Mixed Chocolate Peanut Clusters, Confetti Chicken Salad, and many more are pictured! I really enjoyed cooking from this cookbook and I highly recommend it!
I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze.com book review bloggers program. The opinions are my own.

Wonderful Southern Recipes
"Farm Fresh Southern Cooking" by Tammy Algood is a awesome cookbook with tons of practical, fresh recipes for everyday cooking. All of the recipes in this cookbook are all based on southern cooking styles, featuring dishes such as tomatoes with cornbread stuffing, paprika cornbread, and dilled crawfish salad. All of the recipes in this book look and sound delicious. All of these recipes are relatively simple, using classic farm fresh ingredients. I am so excited to try some of these recipes! The book has appetizers, soups, salads, side dishes, entrees, desserts, and breakfast/brunch. The directions are easy to follow in the recipes, and it utilizes fresh foods. Yum!

a great cookbook sure to please all
I loved this book, it is a real gem! I love that they focus on farm fresh ingredients. We love going to the local farmers market for fruits and veggies (along with amish baked goods). I know our family is different when it comes to cooking. I'm the only vegan (99.5% of the time with the occasional slip to vegetarianism!). It's spring now Farmers Markets are going to opening soon and this cookbook has some great recipes to use! I love the buy fresh and buy local introduction to the book. I've also been very interested in canning and Farm Fresh Southern Cooking has a whole section on canning the ins and outs and dos and don'ts! I can't wait to try out canning this year!!! :)
Some of the yummy recipes:
Pea Picking Salsa (I'm not a big black eyed pea lover but this is wonderful!)
Smoked Tomato Soup
Garden Vegetable Soup (can never have too many veggie soup recipes)
Cornbread Croutons (YUM)
Tomato Bread Salad
Midsummer Corn Salad
Orange Hugged Carrots
Spiced Lentil Chili
These are just a few that are not only yummy, but easy to make and will be coming a regular part of our menu's! I'm so glad to have this book in my cookbook stash!
this book comes out April 17th, so go grab a copy it has so many recipes ones that will inspire you to use all that wonderful, wholesome healthy farm fresh food. Sure to please the vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters in your life.

Yum!
IâÂÂm a sucker for a good cookbook.
Especially a good SOUTHERN cookbook.
Add to that a good, Southern cookbook chock full of recipes that use fresh farmerâÂÂs market fare, and IâÂÂm totally head-over-heels!
Farm Fresh Southern Cooking by Tammy Algood is exactly thisâ¦.and I can easily see how it will become my best friend this summer!
This beautiful, colorful, rich photo-filled softcover cookbook takes the best of farm-fresh produce found in the South and turns these ingredients into mouth-watering recipes to grace any table.
Also included are âÂÂSpotlightsâ which introduce you to local purveyors of various farm fare, many of which have online or mail-order ordering options. I love supporting local labor and small businesses, so I thought that this was a super cool thing to include!
This recipe book has fare that is suitable for a weeknight supper as well as dishes for entertaining and special occasions. I love that there are so many bread recipes! You canâÂÂt go wrong with a hot pan of cornbread.
This book makes me want to seek out local goat cheese and strawberries and whip up a masterpiece. (Better yet, zucchini and tomatoes from my own growing garden!)
