Submitted: February 06, 2008 Tell us a little about yourself. I am a life-long writer and editor. I worked for magazines and newspapers for many years. "Even the Sound Waves" is my first book and now my second has been released, "Make It, Shake It, Mix It Up." Both are Bible story and science activity books geared for the home school, Christian school or Sunday school. Pastors looking for object lessons for children's sermons would also find help here. What was your motivation behind this project? My son and I are pretty hopeless when it comes to arts and crafts! I was looking for a way to make Bible stories interesting for him. Simple science activities grabbed his attention and provided a new way for him to connect with and remember these stories. What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Art and craft activities are one way for children to interact with Bible stories. I hope my books give people the idea of using science activities in the same way. My books are also a very painless introduction to simple scientific principles. Science is fun! How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I must admit, I had absolutely no interest in science for most of my life. But by trying and fine-tuning these activities, I have become very excited about the scientific principles that govern God's world. Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: These 44 activities are simple and use materials you have around the house. Most take just 10-15 minutes to do. They are perfect for preschoolers to second-graders. My second book, Make It, Shake It, Mix It Up is for older elementary school children and the activities, while still simple, take longer and use more materials. Find Related Products |
