Peter Leithart offers here a typological reading of 1 & 2 Samuel as a unified book. By giving careful attention to the book's literary structures and its patterns of types and antitypes, Leithart unveils the symbolic world of Samuel's cumulative and cohesive story. His reading enhances our understanding of New Testament Christology while at the same time giving us a framework for applying the Old Testament to our own lives.

sk lee5 Stars Out Of 5June 25, 2008sk leeI've studying typological-interpretation several years ago. so welcomed this kinds of series. I've found lots of type just like "son", "adopted son" here and there. and Christ-centric, church-centric interpretation. Yes, Christotelic interpretation. Faithful adopted son like Samuel,David and their anti-pattern Eli' sons, Saul, Absalom. and Exodus motiff is very insightful. The barren Hannah and David' long life Journey. finally, this is so helpful to preach.
