The corresponding activity books (sold separately) feature lots of projects, comprehensive questions, mapping, timelines, games, and crafts. Also included is a helpful reading list of fiction and nonfiction titles to enrich your childs understanding of the time period.
Tests are sold separately, too, for parents who want to see how students are retaining the material.
My kids and I loved reading together and doing the projects. With so many great stories and activities to enjoy, there is something for everyone. This program can be used by the whole family to learn together! Approx. 350 pages each, softcovers.

TNhomeschoolers1 Stars Out Of 5Myths, lies, and non-Christian falsehoodsSeptember 28, 2014TNhomeschoolersQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1What could have been engaging story-telling, with a background of true history is actually destructive and damaging to the faith of children and adults. Thinking this was a Christian product, we purchased the audio version and listened to the first five chapters as a family. But Story of the World puts the false religions of the ancient Egyptians, etc. on the same level as the rest of the stories. So there are a lot of myths, lies, and non-Christian falsehoods we have to stop and explain to our child. We don't want anyone else to be misled, so we are throwing this product in the trash and will try a different history series.
ma piperSunbury, PAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5such a useful tool!September 1, 2014ma piperSunbury, PAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought all 4 volumes of Story of the World, with the plan to cover it all over 4 years. I debated whether to get this activity book, and I am so glad I did! This makes planning each lesson so easy, and I know our study will be so much more complete because of the suggested reading, maps, questions, and projects. Also, since I'm using this book with 3 students (1st, 2nd, 4th grades) I love that the book offers a range of options, so I can tailor their activities to their different levels. I am not a unit studies person, but by using this book it's really easy to bring art, reading, and writing into your history lessons. In fact, I am using history as our art time this year. As far as the value, I feel that the number of student reproducible pages, which I'm copying for 3, makes this an excellent value. The pages are perforated for easy copying. I am very happy with this book and already plan to purchase the blue activity book for next year.
PickywomanAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Not accurateJuly 9, 2014PickywomanAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 2Value: 3Meets Expectations: 1I was extremely disappointed in this book. While it seemed to begin well, I found several inaccuracies/assumptions throughout the text.
While discussing Abram, the book said that he thought about talking to the moon god and that his father consulted the moon god prior to moving to Ur. I double checked Scripture, and it is no where to be found. Abram's god was the God Almighty. No questions.
While talking about Jesus, the book tells of him being born in a cave instead of a stable. It depicts the Roman way of life as peaceful and happy (pax romana), which totally negates the slavery, cruelty, and harsh conditions the Jews lived in during that time.
This book seems to be much fiction mixed with some history. I couldn't recommend it as even a side reference book.
