I was looking for a book to read with my niece this summer that would also prepare her for the issues she would face in school next year and someone recommended that I read So Long Insecurity. I found this book to be very well written and my niece just loved it. The issues that are addressed in this book are issues that teen girls experience today and what my niece loved about it is that it was like a magazine. She loved the quizzes in it and the colored pictures. The articles were very informative and we had several discussions about them that I feel benefited my niece. The author addressed insecurity as normal in the teen years but gave her readers pointers on how insecurity can be overcome using Scripture. The author also emphasized that Scripture is what helps girls overcome insecurity and used examples of women in the Bible that the girls could read about later. I found this to be very positive because it gave my niece an idea of the type of woman she wants to grow into. I think this is a valuable book for teen girls to read because it gives girls a great message on what real security is and it is fun for the girls to read as well.

    Important Message for Teens

This is a great book, and I'm glad that there's an edition geared specifically towards teen age girls. This is definitely a message that teens need to hear! My only reservation is that I'm not sure that all of the pictures reinforce the message as much as I would have liked for it to. Overall, a good read, though.

‘So Long Insecurity: Teen Edition' is vital for teenagers to read. Many teenagers struggle with feeling secure, and with their self-image. Beth Moore is an amazing Bible teacher, and an amazing, insightful woman. She also interviews Kylie, a former Victoria Secret model who is now a role model for many girls, young women, and women. The books helps to confront false and deceptive images many young girls receive from media, friends, and family. This book has quizzes and other fun activities that teens enjoy. Sometimes teenagers don't want to read a thick book, but the way this is set up makes it easy and enjoyable for teenage girls.

So Long Insecurity is a woman's devotional helping woman to overcome the many insecurities life throws at them. Woman are not the only ones who struggle with insecurities. This edition of So Long Insecurity is written for the teen girl.

The magazine style helped to enforce the teen vibe. The magazine layout with its polls, girl testimonials, and tests also helps to make the reading easier. The reading portions are small a bonus for those who find long passages to be boring ( however, a minus for this reader) I enjoyed the topics that Beth brought up and many people tend to overlook in matters of insecurity. I felt the book was geared more towards girls who are either not Christians but are interested in God or a young Christian. If you want a devotional to get deep in the word with this may not be your fit. Overall I enjoyed reading the magazine. It was attractive, and God glorifying.

I received this complimentary copy from Tyndale for my independent and unbiased review.

My soon to be 10 year old granddaughter devoured this book and has started prayer every day before school, before tests, before important events in her life. As she is much taller than most 4th graders, which also makes her bigger she is sometimes faced with exasperating comments from children and adults. This is allowing her to find herself and know God has a purpose for each. She is a Honor Roll student, and I have emphasized to her studies and school are most important and God will arrange her life as He sees fit. Other than a stuffed $10 dinosaur she still sleeps with I purchased when she was @3, this is the best $'s I have spent for her.
