Oh, I loved this book; what a sensitive look at the Jewish roots of Christian faith. Not only is it an easy read but it goes deeper into Jesus' Judaism than anything else I have read so far. I use this book in developing sermons on the Jewish roots of Christianity.

Ann and Lois are to commended for this excellent work. Job well done. The gospels are filled with information that the writers so often took for granted that their readers understood. Ann and Lois's book offers incredible insights into those ideas and customs that are often far removed from our present day understanding or very difficult to discover on ones own. Looking forward to the next work!

An excellent tool for more complete under-standing of Scripture: what is reallly being said, why it is said and how Scripture is one from Old Testament through New Testament. This was, for me, one of those "can't put it down" books!

This book is exactly what I've been looking for. Have you ever wondered what Jesus was talking about when he told the would be disciple who first wanted to go bury his father that "no man who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is worthy of the kingdom."? Everyone who was there knew what he was talking about. The authors take us to Israel in Jesus day and transforms us into one of his disciples who were familiar with the culture and traditions of the day.

I'm loving this book. I just got it, but I can't put it down. I can't wait to learn more about the Jewish culture in order to understand God's Word better :)!

This is an important book. Every Christian should not only read this but re-read this and refer to it often! This book has further ignited my passion for my Jewish roots. God bless the authors for this labor of love!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit at the feet of Jesus as his disciples did? Or have you ever wondered about things in the bible that Jesus said or did that didn't make sense? Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus by authors Ann Spangler and Loise Tverberg will not only give you the opportunity to experience what it would be like to sit at Jesus' feet, it will also make your bible study time clearer. I was amazed at the amount of information in this book about Jewish culture and customs. Just knowing it opened my eyes to a greater understanding of why the people of the day reacted to Jesus as they did. For instance, I always wondered why the disciples would drop everything and follow Jesus just because he asked them to. Let's face it, Jesus would have looked as ordinary as you and I, yet there was something about Him that made His disciples leave everything (home, businesses, families) to follow Him. Now I know why and it wasn't because of His miracles. No, I'm not going to tell you, because I want you to read this book! There is a wealth of information in Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus, that would benefit anyone who studies their bible. In fact, I believe it should be on the shelf of every believer to aid in their studies. If you have ever wanted to get to know Jesus and what His life was like on earth - His Jewish roots, then you need to read this book. Kudos to the authors, this one is a keeper!
