The Word will come alive. The book is amazing, it helped me to do the very same. Reviewed by Kevin Hartman (Waverly, Iowa), March 11, 2010It is the kind of book you can not put down. It brings to light the importance of not just reading the Bible, but to study scripture in depth. To understand the importance of forgivness is imparitive in your Christian walk. I am encouraging all my friends to read this book. Reviewed by Sharon Hoseley (Clarkston, WA), February 16, 2010The authors have a homespun story telling quality that mentally takes me right to the time Jesus walked the earth. They weave that facts of the day together nicely with the acts and teaching of Jesus. He wasn't just an unusual man who popped into their society but an inspiring man, the Son of God, who used the societal culture to speak spiritually to the hearts of the people through already know methods. Excellent! Reviewed by Lorenzo A Williams (Houston, TX), November 25, 2009Took my relationship with Yeshua (Jesus Christ)into a deeper knowledge and an awe at his relation ship not only with the Jew but for the future of the Christian and would highly recomend this reading to the world Reviewed by Chosen People Ministries Winnipeg (Winnipeg, Mb,), November 02, 2009Oh, I loved this book; what a sensitive look at the Jewish roots of Christian faith. Not only is it an easy read but it goes deeper into Jesus' Judaism than anything else I have read so far. I use this book in developing sermons on the Jewish roots of Christianity. Reviewed by Charles Richardson (Greenville, SC), September 22, 2009Ann and Lois are to commended for this excellent work. Job well done. The gospels are filled with information that the writers so often took for granted that their readers understood. Ann and Lois's book offers incredible insights into those ideas and customs that are often far removed from our present day understanding or very difficult to discover on ones own. Looking forward to the next work! Reviewed by Margaret C. Campbell (Amite, LA), July 29, 2009An excellent tool for more complete under-standing of Scripture: what is reallly being said, why it is said and how Scripture is one from Old Testament through New Testament. This was, for me, one of those "can't put it down" books! Reviewed by Randy (Lake Forest, CA), July 22, 2009This book is exactly what I've been looking for. Have you ever wondered what Jesus was talking about when he told the would be disciple who first wanted to go bury his father that "no man who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is worthy of the kingdom."? Everyone who was there knew what he was talking about. The authors take us to Israel in Jesus day and transforms us into one of his disciples who were familiar with the culture and traditions of the day.
