Some say roll with the punches. Drift with the tide. Nothing can stop the inevitability of change. There was a time when 300 Spartans disagreed with such mindless thinking and stood in the gap.
Now it's time for 3,000 to stand in the gap.
Sinner is the story of Marsuvees Black, a force of raw evil who speaks with wicked persuasion that is far more destructive than swords or guns. Beware all who stand in his way. It's also the story of Billy Rediger and Darcy Lange, two unsuspecting survivors of a research project gone bad, who discover that they are perhaps the two most powerful souls in the land. Listen to them or pay a terrible price.
This exclusive edition features Dekker's signature on the cover, his letter to CBD customers, and an interview.

I didn't really care for this book or the other books in the Paradise series for that matter. Black, Red, and White were alot better in my opinion.

Very scary how close we are in our society today for this being true. Even if you haven't read #1 or #2 of the series, you can still follow along and understand what's going on.

I am reading " Sinner " but have not quite finished it but it is just as good and compelling to read as other books By Ted Decker. It has mystery and suspense and keeps your interest all the way through. Besides being a christian read, it brings your attention to what may be happening in this country in the early stages of development. I plan on reading all of Ted Dekker's books. He is an excellent author and you will enjoy his books.

It was an interesting and entertaining read but could use some theological improvements. The latter is important in a world of deception.

I thought this was the best of this 3-book series. I couldn't put it down! It's a warning of what could come ....

This is definitely one of Deker's finest books. What's most interesting is that there are some undertones in the book that are taken from the Circle Trilogy as well as the Lost Book Trilogy, building on his legacy of expounding the concepts from other books. This book will definitely leave you feeling like you have a diferent perspective on the circle, paradise, and lost book series.

If you are a avid fan of Ted Dekker you will love this book. I have just recently read Kiss, my first Dekker book and have been catching up on his other books ever since.

Sinner, Showdown, Saint, they go hand in hand. You can't read one without the other, no matter what order you read them in.

Tell us a little about yourself. I grew up in the jungles of Indonesia among cannibals, which obviously played a role in forming my worldview (not my eating habits).
I'm a normal guy with a love for storytelling that's best described as a painful obsession. Some might accuse me of being bent, but that’s a matter of perspective, isn’t it? Put a the stock of a sapling into a creek and the water seems to bend it. Pull the stick out and it’s straight as an arrow. Maybe half of me is immersed in the waters of a another world. Being a writer isn’t what I do; it's who I was created to be. I am a storyteller.
I'm a saint, a sinner, a siren of the Word. The Circle knows me, and the rest...well, the rest just wanna trip on grace juice, baby.
What was your motivation behind this project? I wasn't motivated as much as I was driven. It started with a huge "what if" question that had been simmering in me for years. And it finally came to a boil and I had no other choice but to write it. I had to know what a girl named Darcy would do if confronted by her own twisted past. Would she destroy the lives of millions, an option clearly within her capability? Or would she fall to her knees and beg for Mercy? The answer might surprise you.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The same thing that I imagine Jesus hoped the hearers of his parables would gain--that their eyes would be opened to see life through the lens of truth.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Writing this story, like all of my others, was a discovery process. And the ultimate discovery is always Love, really. But, in discovering love sometimes you have moments when you pump your fist in the air and scream, "That's it!" and you have moments when all your hopes are dashed on the rocks. There were times I wanted to quit and times I knew I could do nothing else but write the next word. In the end I discovered was that Sinner is my story, everyone's story. Certainly your story.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Inspiration and influence come in surprising ways, usually disguised as everyday life. My relationships with my wife and kids, people watching at the airport, a moment in a movie or TV show. I'm influenced and inspired by the same things as most people -- I just pay attention a little differently.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: My day isn't complete until I've watched a little motorcross, paced a dozen laps around my desk, and made a cup of chai for my wife.
See you at The Gathering 2009.
