Product Description

What are the biblical arguments which have convinced the overwhelming majority of Bible believers for more than 150 years that the Lord wants His people to abstain? Are alcoholic drinks right or wrong for a Christian? Are they 'good' or 'evil'? What are the differences between the wine industry of Bible times and the industry of today? The answers to these questions must be considered at the present time, as long-cherished standards are challenged and shaken by prevailing worldliness in the churches of Christ.

Peter Masters misses the mark with this book. While typically a fairly reliable writer he certainly allows his personal convictions outweigh biblical scholarship here. While the book provides some food for thought in reference to the moral implications and impact of whether one drinks or not, it does not present a biblically informed "Christian" position. If you do not object to Christian consumption of alcohol this will not change your position. If you already oppose a Christian consuming alcohol you will likely have heard the same arguments used in this book before.
