“I feel so stressed out! I just can’t do it all!” How many times have you said that? If you’re like me, more times than you want to admit.
Author Carolyn Mahaney and her daughters, Nicole Whitacre, Kristin Chesemore, and Janelle Bradshaw invite you to join them at Carolyn’s kitchen table for some girl talk about Shopping for Time. The hostesses of the blog girltalk, they offer five biblical principles on “redeeming the time.”(Ephesians 5:15-16) Although the book includes some organizational tips, it deals more with the spiritual principles that allow you to get the organization right with the right attitude.
Warm, friendly and packed with personal anecdotes, this little book is inviting and refreshing. – Debbie W. Wilson, Christian Book Previews.com

While this is a practical book with good advice, it is a very short volume that can be read in about an hour. I was searching for something to be used in a woman's Bible Study and this didn't fit the bill. It's best as a read alone book.

My sister recommended this book to me. It's a short book which is easy to read, but it is packed full of wisdom and encouragement. I was so blessed by reading this book that I bought a copy for a friend. She called me right away to say what a great book it is. Practical, relevant truth for women desiring to honor God and use our time well.

We can actually do all that God has called us to do (p. 13).Sound far-fetched? It did to me! After reading stacks of books, "Shopping For Time" has been one of the simplest, most concise, and clearest helps in this process. In a sweet, conversational style, the authors paint with appropriately broad strokes a picture of a life that is joyfully submitted to Gods to-do list. This short (under 100 pages) book offers five tips on shopping for time, and it recognizes some things that many other books barely touch or miss entirely:They explain that we need to rise early, sit at Jesus feet, plan, consider the spheres in which God has placed us, and humbly recognize our dependence on God to be productive. The main thing this book has going for it is flexibility. Whats required to act wisely will look different across the spectrum of women whore reading the book. What works for one wont work for all in exactly the same way in exactly the same seasons. Managing time wisely for the glory of God isnt something that can be done haphazardly. It'll depend on how complicated your life is, but there will be effort. Motivated rightly, though, our lives can be fruitful and joyful expressions of our love for the Savior and delight in serving Him.In the end, our highest goal each day is not flawless execution of our plans or increased productivity. Its our relationship with God, walking in dependence upon Him throughout the day. This book will help you become a wise shopper of time in every season of your life, so when you pass from time into eternity, you can know the intense and indescribable joy of our Saviors pleasure and commendation (90, 94).
