A MUST READ!I read this book in hardback and liked it so much I ordered the mass market editions to pass it on to others. It helps one to understand what David saw as God's care of him because he knew what a good shepherd did for his sheep. Most people in America have not a clue what is involved in the care of sheep, nor do they understand the great care God takes of his sheep. I'm so glad I'm one of the ninety-nine.

I would recommend this book to all Believers who wish to be "stretched" into a better understanding of the Good Shepherd's love and care for His sheep. Keller challenges our 21st century, westernized minds to re-think our conceptualization of this beloved Psalm. I have been blessed by each page he has been inspired to write. Buy it, read it, give it as a gift. It is an inspiration.

I ordered 15 copies of this classic book; that is how much my original reading impacted me. The author gives information about shepherds, sheep, and their environment that I had not discovered in other teachings of this Psalm. The chapters on "you annoint my head with oil," and "yea though I walk through the valley" are powerful - focusing on what that means for sheep - and how that applies to our relationship with Christ. Truly a remarkable book that can be read over and over again.

This is a great little book! We used it for our summer ladies Bible study and every woman who did the study has mentioned how it has grown them in their faith and walk with the Lord. I found a great study to go with it on-line which had some good questions for each chapter. Phillip Keller offers so much insight into the Shepherd/sheep relationship. Highly recommend this for anyone who wants to know their God in a more intimate way. Several of us ordered extra books to give to friends.

I just finished a Women's Bible study - the names of God. The name of God as our Shepherd was my favorite, so this book definitely help me to understand Christ's love for me, and His care of His sheep.

My Sunday School class used this book for a 6 week class. We loved it. What an awesome picture of God and his loving care for us, the sheep of his pasture.
