The film tells the story of a unique servant of God, who as a rowdy young man followed his friends to a revival meeting and there found in the Scriptures new direction for his life. Ardent in prayer, tireless in service, and steadfast in defense of the truth, "Brother Sheffey" rides through the hills spreading the gospel. Although he suffers the loss of his two greatest earthly treasures in one day, Sheffey still finds forgiveness in his heart for the person who caused his sorrow. Based on the book The Saint of the Wilderness by Jess Carr, Sheffey brings hope, courage, joy, and tears. It captures the warmth and compassion of a man whose soul was on fire for the Lord, and, in the words of Bob Jones III, "Every Christian who sees this film will be warmed by that heavenly heat." Pride is the sin that works to our destuction or it can humble us to seek forgiveness by the One who save us from our sin and forgive those who have wronged us. All sin is against God.

This Movie is "Awsome". Clean without question and is a must see film for every Christian. This is the second copy I have purchased.

Good biographical movie. Sheffey's struggles with the "church" then are the same as ours today. The acting was slightly amature but the story of his life overcame the acting.

I have watched this movie since it was on vhs. I have showed it to my church more than once and each time someone will be encouraged by seeing the power of one man who believesin prayer. I can't say enough about "Sheffey". I highly recommend it to one and all.

Great Movie !!! If you want to know what Campmeetings were like this is the movie to watch. It is long and it is a little slow at first but then you start getting in to it and time flies. (at least it did for me). Great story line.
