Overall, I really enjoyed this book and thought that it had some excellent teaching. My only issue was that it seemed a bit repetitive in places, but maybe that is because I'm a little bit older than the target market (I'm 18) and therefore thought that some of the advice was rather obvious. I particularly enjoyed the chapters on being friends with the opposite sex, and putting their needs above yours and not just thinking of them as a possible future boyfriend or girlfriend. Several times during that section I felt myself grinning and thinking "This is exactly what I do with my male best friend!" It was an encouragement to know that I'd made spiritually-sound decisions long before I read this book. I think this would be a great book for any high school aged teen who wants to know more about what God says on relationships and sex. It's also a great aid for getting hold of Bible verses on the subject - I've highlighted several passages and verses in case anyone ever asks me why I'm waiting until I'm married, or why I don't do casual dating. I'm really bad at remembering where certain verses are in the Bible, even if I can remember what the verse says, so I'm glad that this book is full of Biblical references - some of which I hope to memorise. I've also highlighted several phrases about friendships and relationships which I thought were particularly poignant. This book is half pink and yellow now! Definitely one I'll be keeping and recommending to friends.
Excellent text for addressing the "sexual revolution" in the country! The author provides the reader with a biblical perspective of teenage sexuality from a Godly perspective rather than the worldly perspective.
I must agree with the "30 something" year old---I am 28 and I have owned this book for only 2 weeks, but I read it from cover to cover. Initially i was hoping to use it as a resource for understanding today's youth (which by the way is really no different than yesterday's)--anyway, my thought process when buying this book was to look at it from a psychological point of view in hopes to be able to relate to youth around me, but, much to my surprise, this book has hit home in my life and in my walk with Christ---I enjoy listening to Chip on the radio and so much more (from he and Tim) in this book. i plan to buy for the single young adults in our church's Y.A. Ministry because I know it will put "sex" and God's thoughts on it in it's proper place. THANKS CHIP & TIM! GOD BLESS!!
