People can get daily truth injections through a very inexpensive yet effective device- the church sign. Ten helpful chapters show churches how to make the church sign meaningful and effective. A topical and Scripture index makes these aphorisms easy to use in other ways, too-including bulletins, newsletters, or even in sermons.

This book has several interesting (and very short) chapters in the beginning of the book. They explain how to set up a sign ministry. Very handy to share with your members who take on this ministry.

Excellent Christian Messages
The author has provided a book of 701 short, inspirational messages for church or business signs or bulletins. This book would be a nice addition for these libraries and for a personal library also! Congratulations to the author.
Write a review of 701 Sentence Sermons: Attention-Getting Quotes for Church Signs, Bulletins, Newsletters and Sermons

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a former college president, teacher, and management consultant. I'm a lifelong
Christian who has served terms as a trustee of two differnt theological seminaries. I have
been interested all of my life in sayings, quotes, and bits of truth many of which I have used
in speeches I have given.
What was your motivation behind this project? I lead a sign ministry at my church and found a lack of readily available messages to put on
our sign. After talking to a vice president of the largest Christian sign company in the USA,
and finding there was no ready resource, I decided to develop one to help others. The
"Sentence Sermons" in my book are set up and ready to go on church signs the way
they are presented. The book also contains numerous helpful hints for signs.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope readers will find a wealth of truth presented in sound bite format that can be
readily used on church signs, bulletins, newsletters, and in other ways. Churches will also
find many suggestions for making their sign ministries more effective. These suggestions
are based on experience and can help churches maximize the effectiveness of their
sign ministries.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Aside from the writers of Holy Scripture my favorite authors are C.S. Lewis, J.B. Phillips, Billy
Graham, Charles Stanley, Gary Habermas, Paul Tournier, Philip Yancey, Bruce Catton and
Peter Drucker. My favorite subjects are religion, politics, history (particularly the Civil War),
and the management of non profit organizations.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I am a semi retired college administrator who has turned his interest to writing for the glory
of God. My wife and I have another book, entitled "Every Day Is Saturday - A Christian
Guide To a Fantastic Retirement," coming out in Sept. 2000.
