Joy3 Stars Out Of 5Extreme range - most voices won't reach itSeptember 25, 2014JoyQuality: 5Value: 2Meets Expectations: 2I don't think many people could use this as a solo - the range is the extreme limits of BOTH ends of my ability. I can JUST hit the bottom note (the beginning note is the lowest in the the song) and I think it's the same note as the highest one in the song, if I recall correctly ... exactly 2 full octaves (plus one, really) by the time you are in the final chorus.
For some reason, it's stepped up not once, but TWICE, and not gently, either. Yes, yes, I know it's more 'artistically interesting" to change keys, but this is a bit much, to me, because the song already has a lot of range, and to step it up twice, so sharply, is just too much for such a sweet simple song. .. for most people to use. I love it so much, though. and I think the background is beautiful and the flute sounds lovely (And I play BOTH flute and keyboard, and I didn't even notice one way or another about the flute). I'm going to sing it anyhow, as a female/male duet or even trio. .as it's done on the recording. If I feel uncertain about the top notes that day, there's plenty of harmony notes I could fall back on instead.
The other singer has a strong beautiful tenor, but he, too, considered the bottom part a bit low, and the other 2 verses too high. The final note of the song is SUCH a MARVELOUS worshipful harmony if done correctly, with all voices hitting it evenly - I don't know how to explain it, but it's the sort of note that you just have to "team" on, if you know what I mean. . I don't know how to describe it..
Beth Anne4 Stars Out Of 5September 10, 2011Beth AnneQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I love this song. It is one of my favorites. The words are so meaningful. The soundtrack is very good. I kind of expected it to be exactly like Selah's version, but it is a little different (the main thing I noticed was the sound of the whistle at the beginning didn't quite sound like an actual whistle, perhaps done on a keyboard, though it still sounds good) All in all this is a great product. I am so thankful I found this soundtrack!

The only problem is that it won't play in my laptop, so I cannot practice singing the song in my home; I have to wait until I'm in the car to practice. Luckily, I commute 30 miles one way to work every day, so I'm in my car a lot! Other than that, it's a great song and a good quality CD.
Q: Are these compatible with C instruments such as flute
You would be able to accompany these with any instrument if your music is written in the correct key or you can transpose to the key it is in.
