You will enjoy this humorous, fun and thought provoking book. There are many principles to apply to your everyday life. The amusing and personal stories will encourage you to continue learning and growing in your spiritual quest. The chapter's end with a list of Bible readings that apply to the information you have just studied. There are also questions to answer to make sure you have understood the principle the author is teaching.

One of the chapters entitled "I'm So Proud of My Humility" explains how pride will get you no where! Using scripture and personal stories the author encourages you to leave the worlds lie behind that says you deserve more then anyone else.

The chapter entitled "Fear and the Faith Factor" was a personal favorite. Following the principle of scripture you will learn how to make decisions not on fear but on prayer.

"When does Happily Ever After Begin?" is a hilarious chapter and includes wonderful insight on how to maintain a happy marriage. The author is very clear that happily ever after does not exist and is just another lie the world has lead us to believe.

This book is filled with excellent principles and easy to follow steps to shake off the lies of the world and center your thoughts on the Lord's truth. I loved this book so much I gave away copies as presents for Mothers Day!

I met this lovely dynamo of a woman at the Writers Conference in the Blue Ridge Mountains, May 2008. Like a magnet those of us at the conference were drawn into her enthusiasm. As I read this book I could "see" Vonda moving and feel her energy coming through the words. As Vonda says: A half truth is a whole lie. And that is how the devil gets us, with half-truths. Vodna led me through ten chapters, teaching me that it's not how beautiful I am, nor how much stuff I manage to accumulate but learning to trust in Him. I will never be good enough. That is true. But I don't have to be. Jesus Christ has said He is the way the truth and the life. He wants me to submit to him and to His will for my life. "Our past failure does not have to affect our future calling." ~~ Vonda SkeltonRead Seeing Through the Lies and be blessed.

Vonda Skeltons Seeing Through The Lies is a completely engaging non-fiction read. The beautiful cover will draw you to this wonderful book that champions women by combating the falsehoods we believe about ourselves and life in general. Specific subjects include physical beauty, lifes pace, boundaries, fear, contentment, humility, marriage, motherhood, servanthood, and much more. Each chapter has 5 daily scripture readings, encouraging the reader to savor the chapter over several days instead of tearing through the material. There are also a couple of questions for personal reflection and discussion with a small group. More discussion questions can be found at the end of the book. There are practical tips and exercises, a terrific list of books, websites and other resources.

Vonda addresses major issues that woman who believe in Jesus face on a regular basis.
