Book is very practical and well written. Concepts were presented clearly on learning to grow in the role of a parent with adult children. An excellent book!

Keep this one on your nightstand
Nancy Williams has written an encouraging and information-packed guide for parents who find themselves puzzled by their new role as mom or dad to adult children, whether your children have just graduated from high school or have been on their own for some time. Each chapter is valuable, and readers will find themselves returning to specific chapters from time to time as their children's life situations change.
Nancy makes the difficult transition from parent and child to coach and friend seem possible. She doesn't gloss over the need for parents to evaluate our own actions and deal with our own emotions, or the need for adult children to assume responsibility for themselves. One of the best aspects of the book is the myriad of true stories; the other is the helpful examples of how to talk with adult children friend to friend.
Nancy rightfully acknowledges that all parents do make mistakes, but at times she seems to imply that we all taught our children well regardless. Parents who know they neglected important teaching might find this makes them uncomfortable. Otherwise, there's nothing negative about this helpful book, and readers will want to keep it on their nightstands to refer to frequently.

Ideal resource for baby boomers with adult kiddos
If you're a baby boomer like me with adult or near-adult kiddos, do yourself a favor a buy this insightful, wisdom-filled book. You'll be blessed by the fresh, easy-to-understand, godly advice written by Nancy Williams, licensed professional counselor, life coach, and mother. I'm not loaning my copy to my friends because it's a keeper that I'll reference frequently.
