Seagrass Pier is a great Christian, murder mystery, romance - as are all of Colleen Coble's books. It is such a Blessing to have Christian authors that write CLEAN books for those of us that love a good mystery!
I've read many of Colleen Coble's books and this one is top of my list right now. I'm talking heart thumping, fast breathing, sitting on the edge of my seat suspense! I kept second guessing the culprit vs the good guy. A woman who works in an organ donor center, matching donor organs with recipients develops a heart virus and needs a heart transplant herself. She receives a heart from a woman that was murdered. She begins to see and feel things coming from the woman's heart. She actually has visions of the murder. When it's publicized she starts getting threats from the murderer, thinking she will figure out who he (or she) is. Throw in her husband who has died, a daughter who thinks he's her biological dad and a friend who doesn't know he's the real dad, and that just adds to all the excitement and suspense!
Every time I pick up a novel by Colleen Coble I know I'm going to read a great book! Seagrass Pier definitely met that definition and was a great addition to The Hope Beach series.
Okay. Let me just go ahead and say that I LOVED Elin and Marc. They were a great couplewith plenty of conflict and romantic tension and sweet moments. I definitely felt bad for Marc when he learns a life-changing truth. (Not cool, Elin!) And things seemed to pile on Elin at times. However, it was refreshing to see how she grew as she had to deal with so many challenges. I enjoyed reading all the ups and downs ... which made for an interesting story.
The suspense didn't seem quite as suspenseful as some of Coble's other novels, but there was still plenty going on that had me scratching my head and flipping the pages. Overall, I truly enjoyed this story and recommend it to anyone looking for a mental escape as the summer winds down. [4 stars]
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my fair and honest review.
Elin was on her way to a life of healing not only emotionally but physically since her heart transplant. That is until she started having flashbacks of her donor's murder. This disrupted her life more than she could bare. She feared the murderer was now after her very own life.
FBI agent, Marc Everton was the only official willing to investigate the case. He did this due to the fact that he had a connection with Elin in that he was the biological father of Elin's daughter.
WOW! Talk about eerie, this story was riveting, spine tingling and really made me think hard about the implications made by the recipient of the heart. Still there is romance, mystery, intrigue and much more in this story. I suggest you keep your lights on, your doors and windows locked while reading this book. You will not want to trust anyone. Sorry this is coming from my own fear and insecurities. Hee! Hee!
I highly recommend/dare you to read this book.
