Everett Behr goes to great lengths to maintain his distance from people so they won’t stare at the disfiguring scars he sustained in a fire. A budding friendship with Tillie O’Dell eases his loneliness, but he is convinced she is only being gracious out of pity. Asking her to endure the humiliation of being with him is out of the question.

book, and they prayed and trusted God to help them.
I like Christian romantic and family background books.
I, also, liked the fact that Tillie looked at the inner person
instead of looking at the scars and outward appearance.

I loved it. The story was full of intrigue and honesty. It was God centered. A true faith-inspired romance. I am going to search for more books by this author, and buy them. She captured my attention from the get go, and I didn't put it down until I was done, and then I was sad it was over. I truly enjoyed it. The writing was captivating and full of emotions. Great job Ms. Connie Stevens, great job!
