I'm not all about workbooks, but these supplement the lessons so nicely, and can be used at my discretion. I enjoy them. The lessons seemed too repetitious at first, but I am seeing my student needs the constant review.

Really one of the best math programs out there. Not overwhelming, easy to follow.

I love this curriculum. It is easy to use and implement. Everything is in order and is easily torn out and added to my daughters portfolio. My only suggestion would be to make it into one big workbook (for convenience only). I am a first time homeschooling parent and this curriculum is very easy to follow. It teaches your child the method to the madness of math that sometimes we as adults we forget. For example, today my daughter was learning about adding nine to a number (9 + 1 = 10). For some people, it is easy to just add the two numbers but this curriculum provided a lesson on other ways to come up with your answer. Add 10 and then subtract 1 from your new answer. This may seem like this is the hard way but when the student gets to 4th grade and they have to add 35 + 39 using mental math, the student will be able to just round 39 to 40 and then take 1 off of their answer. I have a daughter doing this lesson in 4th grade right now and she is amazed at how fast she can add two digit numbers together without having to rack her brain over it...Thanks Saxon for making this homeschooling mom's life that much easier.
