Lessons are divided into two portions-the meeting and the lesson; this program is designed to alternate between these, teaching 3 lessons and 2 meetings a week. In the meeting, review is emphasized as counting, time, estimation and more are highlighted; progress is kept track of in the separate meeting book. During a lesson, new skills, such as sorting by color, learning patterns, skip counting, measuring, time, graphs and story problems are taught incrementally. Teacher's Edition is spiral-bound softcover with 439 pages of lessons; the appendixes contain oral assessment forms, student activity masters and handwriting forms. The Meeting Book is 24 pages, softcover.

marieg1 Stars Out Of 5December 25, 2013mariegQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I like Saxon math. Except for the Kindergarten. There were no workbooks to buy with it, some activities took awhile to find the materials needed. It was too unstructured for me. The other levels - 1st, 2nd and 3rd have been great!

I purchased this kit to get the boys into the routine of doing math. I love the scripted structure and the spiral nature of this curriculum. The activities are always fun for both boys and each day's work only takes 15-20 minutes. The younger one doesn't complete the activities as well, but my main goal was to establish a routine and I have been very happy with this program so far.

It has been way to easy for my kindergartner (she is 5 1/2), but may have been useful when she was 4. We are flying through the lessons (several a day) and will probably be to the 1st grade book by January.

Q: Do I need to purchase a separate Student Workbook?
Q: Does this include both the teacher's guide and meeting book? It kind of sounds like both are included, but b/c the description says "seperate meeting book," I'm not 100% sure. Thank you!
Q: What other materials do I need to teach 2 students? What other materials do I need to purchase to teach 2 students at the same time so that each have their own books? I know the set contains enough to teach 1 student.
