Presented in the familiar Saxon approach of incremental development and continual review, topics are kept fresh in students' minds. Covering triangle congruence, postulates and theorems, surface area and volume, two-column proofs, vector addition, and slopes and equations of lines, Saxon features all the topics covered in a standard high school geometry course. Two-tone illustrations help students really "see" the geometric concepts, while sidebars provide additional notes, hints, and topics to think about.
Parents will be able to easily help their students with the solutions manual, which includes step-by-step solutions to each problem in the student book, and quickly assess performance with the test book (test answers included). Tests are designed to be administered after every five lessons after the first ten.
Please Note: This is the third printing and errors to date have been corrected.
Saxon Teacher: Geometry, 1st edition is a perfect solution for students who prefer audio-visual instruction to reading from a textbook. Unlike other versionsof Saxon Teacher, this edition features the lesson text being read from the textbook, along with solutions (though not always worked out or explained) to every practice problem, problem set, and test problem. Students will watch and and hear actual textbook problems with a visual of a digital whiteboard. A slider button allows students to skip problems they don't need help on, or rewind, pause, or fast-forward to get to the sections they'd like to access. Problem set questions can be watched individually after the being worked by the student; the practice set is one continuous video that allows for easy solution review. For use with Geometry 1st Edition. Four Lesson CDs and 1 Test Solutions CD included.
Please Note: This product is only available for purchase by homeschools, consumers, and public institutions.

ZatumartaYork PAAge: 55-65Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5CD set is poorly produced and does not 'teach'September 4, 2013ZatumartaYork PAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1Having used the Saxon Algebra I CD set, we were expecting a helpful tutor on the Geometry CD set. What we've discovered instead is a voice reading almost verbatim what is in the textbook. Not only does the 'teacher' on the CD's fail to offer anything beyond what is in the text, she reads so quickly and with so little enunciation, we are hard pressed to understand what she is saying, even when following along with the book. Very poor production standards, and more important, a gross misrepresentation of product. This is not comprehensive lesson instruction. There is absolutely no additional value in these CD's beyond what is found on the pages of the text book. Nor do the CD's offer step-by-step solutions. Much is left unexplained. Consider the algebra review practice problems where a student might benefit from at least a brief review of a previously learned concept while seeing the problem solved. The narrator offers nothing beyond a skeletal and very quickly worked out solution, repeating only what she is writing, with no explanation. If I encountered this 'teacher' using this method in a classroom, I would be lost. I fail to see how my student is going to benefit by encountering her on these CD's. Saxon, you can do better.
carterJackson, GAAge: 35-44Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5not worth the moneyApril 14, 2011carterJackson, GAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1If you want a cd rom that reads the book to you, then this is what you are looking for! This has been absolutley the worst product I have purchased. If you and your child can read, don't waste your time buying these discs. This product has not offered any assistance to my 10th grader and the instructor's voice is dull and makes constant smacking noises. This was a thorough disappointment and completely misleads the consumer with it's statement of having a "real Saxon teacher". What you have is a "real Saxon reader".
Patsy Ross1 Stars Out Of 5Not pleased with this Saxon teacherNovember 11, 2010Patsy RossQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1Right now I am passed the point of being disappointed. I am angry. My two 10th grade granddaughters are working on Saxon Geometry as I am typing this and they are struggling. I have contacted several sources at Saxon and explained to them that this "teacher" on CD-ROM that we ordered with the kit does not teach anything. She reads directly from the text book and offers no explanations or helpful hints to solve the problems. She reads so fast that she fails to enunciate distinctly. She hinders more than helps so they don't even listen to her now.
