Presented in the familiar Saxon approach of incremental development and continual review, topics are continually kept fresh in students' minds. Covering triangle congruence, postulates and theorems, surface area and volume, two-column proofs, vector addition, and slopes and equations of lines, Saxon features all the topics covered in a standard high school geometry course. Two-tone illustrations help students really "see" the geometric concepts, while sidebars provide additional notes, hints, and topics to think about. Parents will be able to easily help their students with the solutions manual, which includes step-by-step solutions to each problem in the student book; and quickly assess performance with the test book (test answers included). Tests are designed to be administered after every five lessons after the first ten.
Please Note: This is the third printing and errors to date have been corrected.

Kimbot1 Stars Out Of 5Common Core Creeping Into Homeschool Versions.........December 18, 2014KimbotQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1The reason this book is unlike the past home school versions is because it is now Common Core alligned. And this after claiming the homeschool versions of Saxon would remain independent. Shame on you! No further explanation needed........
scrouse1 Stars Out Of 5Not student friendlyAugust 30, 2014scrouseQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2We've used Saxon Math. We love Saxon even though it has challenging questions. Saxon has always been very user friendly as far as explaining a concept. This book is not anything like the previous Saxon books we have used. It's difficult to understand. My son spends hours working on the practice problems and ends up with half incorrect. Don't waste your time or money on this book.
Stacy Boatwright5 Stars Out Of 5Saxon GeometryAugust 22, 2014Stacy BoatwrightSo far so good on this level of Saxon. She enjoys the teacher CD's & being able to tackle math on the computer, even though I make her show her work.

I and Alg. II. Of nine students, five have dropped within the first five weeks due to frustrations with the text. This is not the Saxon I've loved and heartily endorsed. The questions are confusing and take forever to wade through (yes, we're using the corrected version). I would work through the lesson with my daughter and then she'd spend an hour doing the problems, miss 50-75% of them, and then we'd spend an hour correcting the lesson. It was with great relief we fled to a different curriculum that she is flying through. BTW, the Saxon tests are a breeze, so she obviously learned something, but we don't have 2+ hours to spend on math each day.

We've always used Saxon math and wanted to continue into high school. It's right on target and meets our needs perfectly. CBD was also the obvious choice of where to buy it as not only are they competitive on pricing, but the customer service is excellent. Thanks CBD for helping with all our homeschool needs.
Q: What calculator is needed for the Saxon Geometry?
This curriculum requires a graphing calculator.
Q: errors in Geomtery? I am hesitant to buy Saxon geometry as the Algebra half had many errors in the solution manual. Please could you tell me whether there are any errors in the geometry course as there have been complaints made on the reviews. Have the errors been corrected? Thank you.
In the first print run there were some errors in this curriculum. These have been corrected and we have not heard of any problems for quite some time.
Q: geometry workbooks. Whats the difference between the student workbook and the adapted workbook, besides the number of pages?
The Geometry course doesn't have either a Student Workbook or Adapted Workbook.
Q: when to study Geometry? When should a high school student study geometry? Is it after Algebra 1 or Algebra 2 Saxon math?Thank you
If your student is required to complete a separate Geometry course, Saxon Geometry can be taken either between Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 or after Algebra 2. If not, the heart of the geometry course is embedded in Saxon's Algebra 2 and Advanced Math. Students who complete Algebra 2 have taken the equivalent of one semester in geometry, but they would need to complete Advanced Math in order to complete one full year of Euclidean geometry.
