Understanding the abstractions of calculus requires far more than limited exposure. Through the 148 sequential lessons in this comprehensive text, future mathematicians, scientists, and engineers will incrementally build and reinforce their knowledge through continual practice and review. Following a condensed summary of key algebra, trigonometry, and analytic geometry topics, students explore limits, functions, and the differentiation and integration of variables.
This kit includes the student text, testing book, answer key, and a solutions manual with worked solutions to every problem in the textbook. Early solutions of each kind contain every step, with later solutions omitting steps considered unnecessary.

Laura in FLFloridaAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent results!September 16, 2011Laura in FLFloridaAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I bought this set for my son, along with the DIVE CD. We used it last year, and he did very well in it. We completed through Lesson #132, then did a leisurely lesson a week through the summer.
This year he is attending a prestigious technical university. His math scores on the placement test were 100%, so he was invited to take the Calculus I placement test. He passed and was asked to take the Calculus II placement test, which he also passed. He started his first week of college with 8 Calculus credits, which was far more than we had hoped for. I can't recommend this highly enough.
Q: how does the second edition differ from the first edition? I'm homeschooling from 2400 miles away and my student has the first edition Saxon Calculus... If I buy a second edition, am I way out of synch with the first edition? problems different, etc.?
The lessons in the first and second editions are not in the same order so they won't work together
Q: is this the 2006, 2nd edition?
Yes, this is the second edition "Saxon Calculus".
