"God did not die just to save us from the consequences of a bad past or past failure, but to 'clear the decks' for divine action in our lives." The Saving Life of Christ contains a warning that our response to Jesus Christ will determine our condition "in the sights of God ... redeemed or condemned." The Mystery of Godliness offers old and new considerations about the nature of godliness in thought-provoking discussions such as "How to Do the Impossible" and "How Much are You Worth?"

To help us better understand and incorporate victorious Christian living into our lives, Major W. Ian Thomas combines in one volume The Saving Life of Christ, which examines the implications of Christ's life and death, and The Mystery of Godliness, an exploration of the fact that godliness is a mystery. "God did not die just to save us from the consequences of a bad past or past failure, but to 'clear the decks' for divine action in our lives." The Saving Life of Christ contains a warning that our response to Jesus Christ will determine our condition "in the sights of God . . . redeemed or condemned." Neil Kirby5 Stars Out Of 5June 2, 2009Neil KirbyMajor Ian Thomas challenged some of the "religious motions of the modern church. His ministry was dedicated to authentic Godly communion and relying on The Spirit of God in man to live the Christian life. Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27 Great book. Get a few and give one to your pastor.
Ray Putney5 Stars Out Of 5March 5, 2008Ray PutneyThere are not enough stars for this work. Blessed are the poor in Spirit. Major Thomas sets out in very understandable terms the necessity of our realization of our total inablility to lead the Christian life on our own merits. You have to surrender to win. A concept foreign to anyone except Christ and those in whom he dwells.

Ronald Bangert5 Stars Out Of 5August 13, 2007Ronald BangertI cut my first teeth in my Christian walk on the lives and writings of Corrie Ten Boom, M. Baslea Schlink, William Law, Smith Wigglesworth, George Mueller, Rees Howells, Thomas a Kempis, George Fox, Andrew Murray, Sadhu Sundar Singh, and others. I ran across a copy of Major W. Ian Thomas' book, "The Saving Life of Christ" on a FREE book table a few years ago and began to read his insights into God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and Christian discipleship and them to exemplify the lives of those I have held in high esteem. If you want more of Jesus in the day-to-day moments of your life and gain insight into how the Holy Spirit works God's sanctification and redemptive work in your life, this book is a must. And place it on your night stand right next to William Laws' "The Power of the Spirit" and Baslea Sclink's " You Will Never Be the Same" & "Repentance, The Joy Filled Life".
