Tell us a little about yourself. I'm a guy who likes to take the bumpy path in life and laugh through the experiences. I find humor in almost everything I do, especially after my wounds have healed. At the end of the day, I look for the spiritual implications. What was God teaching me? What did I learn?
What was your motivation behind this project? After a missions trip to Quito, Ecuador, I wanted to do something more. I wrote this book in honor of the poor and needy, and those who work with them to change their lives and introduce them to Christ.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The Great Cheese Sandwich War includes 30 humorous stories designed to make us laugh at our mistakes and dumb ideas. At the end of each story I wrap in a spiritual truth, thus adding humility to humor, and causing us to see how God uses it all for His glory.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? As I wrote, I saw a God's grace in my life, and how he protects me from even my worst ideas. Since the book came out, I have had many readers share their stories of grace and humility, and tell me it helped inspire them spiritually. That's rewarding.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My influences are Jerry & Dawn Carnill, founders of Extreme Response, Atlanta, GA; John & Avril Thomas, founders of Living Hope Ministries, Capetown, South Africa; and Dr. Doug Schmidt, senior pastor, Woodside Bible Church, Troy, Michigan.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Proceeds from the sale of "The Great Cheese Sandwich War: Thirty Humorous Devotional Stories and One (Really) Inspiring One", will be donated to Extreme Response International.
