KatyTennesseeGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent final book in seriesAugust 18, 2015KatyTennesseeGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love this book and all the ones that came before it in the Alaskan Courage series. Im so sad to come to the end of the final book. I love the characters. This book focused on Kirra and Reef. Their story is very complex. Of course, if youve read the prior books, youve already met them and know that there is a puzzling mystery concerning Kirra. It is so heart-wrenching to finally learn her story. As we saw in Silenced, Reef is a changed man. In this book, can he finally come to trust his childhood nemesis?
Sabotaged is a very exciting and fast-moving novel. The plot is convoluted with twists and turns more than I could figure out or imagine. There is so much going on throughout the story. It is a true page turner. I would have liked to have read it all in one sitting, but had to get some sleep, so I regretfully put it down until the next evening.
What a fun challenge to read! If you like romantic suspense, do not miss this book and the rest of the series. If you like books about families, this series is amazing. The McKennas are a wonderful and interesting family. I highly recommend Sabotaged to people who enjoy Christian fiction. If you havent tried Christian fiction, but would like to do so, this would be a good series to try. Start with the first book, Submerged, and you will be hooked!
ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Suspenseful and EnticingMay 2, 2015ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Sabotage by Dani Pettrey is the final book in the Alaskan Courage Series and is a suspenseful tale from start to finish. Although I had not read the first four books, I was able to follow along in the story easily enough.
Kirra Jacobs and Reef McKenna have known each other since childhood and although theyve never been great friends, they find themselves thrown together in an effort to save Kirras cousin, Meg, who has suddenly gone missing. Meg isnt exactly a goody two shoes, so tracking her down is challenging when it seems no one is taking them seriously in the matter. But Kirra knows something is wrong and shes determined to find Meg.
Kirras uncle Frank, (who is also Megs father) has gone missing as well in the middle of the Iditarod race. As one of the most experienced racers, it seems highly unlikely that Frank just lost course.
Entangled in a web of past secrets, hidden agendas and shady characters, Kirra and Reef trek across Alaska searching for Frank and Meg all the while dodging killers out to silence them.
Sabotage is a nail-biting story that will grip the reader from the very first page and keep you enthralled until the very end.
I received this book from Bethany Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion which Ive provided here.
TellNJasmineMontanaAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Romance & suspense on the Iditarod trail!April 29, 2015TellNJasmineMontanaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Iditarod. What a magic word. And when you pair it with the name Dani Pettrey you have the winningest combination on the trail. If I hadn't already fallen in love with Dani Pettrey's suspense stories, and the McKenna family, I would have picked this book up solely based on the cover. I had been looking forward to this book since the cover and blurb were first revealed to fans. Believe me, it didn't disappoint.
Sabotaged was such a fun book to read. Not only was it my favorite genre and from a favorite author, but it also features my favorite sporting event of the year. It was so neat reading those oh-so-familiar checkpoints. And the suspense? Sabotaged is full of Dani's trademark adventure and romance. I found myself breathlessly turning pages as they edged closer and closer to probable disaster and the final showdown. If you've read any of the previous books in the Alaskan Courage series you will know how much of a nail-biter they can be.
Wonderful cast of characters, I really liked Reef and Kirra, with appearances from all of the McKenna clan. I'm just sorry that Sabotaged is the last book in the series, I really don't want to say goodbye. One of the things that really stood out to me is how people often don't, and won't, fit into the boxes we create for them. Just when you think you've really got them pegged, they surprise us. Past mistakes, thoughts, and attitudes, are just that, past.
Sabotaged is a wonderful tale of adventure and suspense set in the Alaskan bush during one of the toughest and most exciting races in the world. Iditarod!
