The debut release from Run Kid Run challenges listeners to examine their true selves with honest, encouraging lyrics floated over a punky pop rock soundtrack. This Is Who We Are includes "We've Only Just Begun," "Sing To Me," "The Call Out," and more.
Run Kid Run is a four-piece rock band from Illinois featuring David Curtis (vocals, guitar), Neil Endicott (guitar, vocals), Lyle Chastain (bass) and Matt Jackson (drums). Their debut album, This is Who We Are, was recently released by Tooth & Nail Records. The bands music is fun and energetic but does not lack thematic depth. Run Kid Run delivers an elevating message of hope and encouragement surrounded by big guitars, hooks and contagious melodies. Check out runkidrun.net and myspace.com/runkidrun.
Paul: What is unique about your live performance?
Neil: I think a bands live performance is one thing that is always changing. For us, its a constant learning experience, and I think there will always be room for growth in that area. I would say our main goal is to just go out there and have a great time doing what we love while, hopefully, creating a great experience for the audience. A live show is all about the audience. Its their night to shine, not ours. We want them leaving with a memorable experience that was fun and exciting for them! A 30 minute set isnt long, but I think its so awesome to see a connection being made between so many different lives. Its one moment we can all share together, and its all because of music! We want our show to be a fun timea big dance party!
Paul: What do you want people to be left with after listening to your music?
Neil: We want people to be left with hope. We want our music to be uplifting and positive, leaving the listener with a good feeling that brightens their day. We hope, by using our personal experiences with the struggles and passions we have in life, our songs might be an influence and be able to help others in certain areas of their lives. Overall, we hope our music is a reflection of Gods love. He is the only reason we are able to do what we do! We pray people see His love through our music and actions. We just want to make a difference in peoples lives and let them know they are loved.
Paul: Whats your favorite road movie?
Neil: Hmm...favorite road movie? To be honest, none of us watch movies on the road. I can only think of once or twice Ive actually done that. We do watch Lost though! We are huge Lost fans. I bought the whole second season, and we had Lost marathons. It was great!
