Doug5 Stars Out Of 5August 6, 2008DougBill has hit the nail on the head with this book. Too often men are held back by the mr. nice guy training which allows a man only to sit and bite his tongue rather than stand as the Word tells us to. Our men's group has chewed on this book for 4 months now and I can see the change in the way our congregation does its task of being Christ to a lost world and discipleship. It is all for the better. Lives are being changed. Its amazing what a man will do when given permission.
Mike Wright5 Stars Out Of 5April 5, 2007Mike Wright6 Rules Every Man Must Break is a book that EVERY MAN MUST READ. Inspiring, engaging and at times uncomfortably all-to-relatable, 6 Rules had me pumping my fist in the air one minute and wiping a tear the next. Bill Perkins' humorous and transparent style separates this book from most of the books written for Christian men, making it one that "non-believer" men would enjoy as well. Passivity, playing it safe, perseverance, independence, restraint and impressing others certainly aren't "rules" that only Christian men are expected to follow. They're drilled into most of our heads from the first time we say our ABC's until we're card-carrying members of the AARP. What he calls "add-on" rules aren't limited to churches, they're everywhere, and Perkins encourages and equips men to break the rules, "unclip the leash" and live our lives the way God created us to.
