Rosetta Stone students progress independently at their own pace. Parents can choose whether to use a preloaded lesson plan or full-year curriculum track, create their own lessons, or use an alternate program to focus on specific skills such as listening & speaking or reading & writing. Students are tested periodically, automatically advancing as their scores improve through reviewing weaker areas. At the completion of a unit, students complete a "Milestone Activity" in which they must speak into the microphone and participate in a conversation. The built-in reporting tool gives parents the ability to view, print and export student results, including completed exercises, current lesson progress, scores, and time spent learning.
Rosetta Stone also includes an audio companion! Reinforce your language skills anywhere, anytime with five audio activities that correspond with the computer lessons and provide additional conversation practice. At home or on the go, you can redeem the time by improving your pronunciation, vocabulary, phrases, speaking & conversation skills. MP3 Files.
Rosetta Stone Spanish (Latin American) Level 1, Homeschool Edition, Version 3 provides instruction in basic conversational skills, greetings and introductions, colors, adjectives, numbers, prepositions, definite & indefinite articles, singular & plural nouns, family relations, the five senses and time of day.

Kimberly1 Stars Out Of 5DisappointedOctober 19, 2014KimberlyQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I loved the idea of Rosetta Stone Homeschool edition. I particularly liked that it tracks student progress. Unfortunately, we began getting errors almost immediately after installation (same issue on two different Windows 7 machines and a Vista). We checked with Rosetta Stone support which told us to check for conflicting software, but that wasn't the issue. The only "fix" they offered was to change the name of the tracking file. Unfortunately, that "fix" meant that course progress is not available. Being able to track my children's progress is important for grading purposes. I did find that if I change the tracking file name, open the program, close the program, rename the new tracking file, change the name back to the original tracking file, and restart that I can usually get it to work, but that is unacceptable. Clearly this isn't a result of a corrupt file, but rather is attributable to poor programing. This has been such a disappointment. I will never again purchase another Rosetta Stone Product. The only highlight is the microphone headset, but that isn't saying much!

Also, my daughter didn't like how lessons are in Spanish only. We returned for a refund.
LadyFinleyAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5There are no errors, just a bit of confusion...September 24, 2012LadyFinleyAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 5My fellow homeschoolers,
After taking Spanish courses for many years in high school and college, I was only able to understand the language but not speak it fluently. I decided to take advantage of the free trial through the military and fell in love. Now I have both a formal understanding and can speak fluent Spanish with my Hispanic colleagues. My daughters, who were 5 & 9 at the time, picked up many of the sentences instantly.
To clear up the confusion, bebe' (with an accent on the last "E") means baby, while bebe (without the accent means to drink.) Therefore it has dual meaning depending on its context.
Bebe (drink) stems from the verb beber (to drink)
You must understand that Rosetta is an immersion program and will not go through an in-depth formal syntax, but you will learn how to say these sentences accurately.
michelleBuena Vista, TNAge: 25-34Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5This product is incorrect.September 15, 2012michelleBuena Vista, TNAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1The program teaches that the word bebe means drink, it really means baby. I happen to have a spanish/english dictionary. The word for drink is beber. They have taken the letter r off other words as well. They teach that the word come means eat but it should be comer. Corre means run but should be spelled correr. I do not know why they would leave off the r. It is a big difference with bebe=baby and beber=drink. I tried to call and talk to someone and was put on hold for 45 min. i hung up. I am sorry i wasted my money on this. Lord knows i dont have alot!
VickyLynn321Kingston, TNAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5So far, this product promises to be amazing!August 23, 2012VickyLynn321Kingston, TNAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I ordered Rosetta Stone Latin American Spanish Level 1 with Audio Companion Homeschool Edition, Version 3 for my 14 year old daughter. We are just now getting into the program, but so far she not only loves it, but seems to be learning at an amazing speed. We will see where we are when we finish the program. I am looking forward to level 2!
Q: Can I reuse this another year for another child? I have a 9th grader that will use it for a High school credit. Will I be able to use it again in 3-4 years for my other children that will need the course also?
Yes, you can install this software on up to two computers and use it with up to five students on each.
Q: Can this program be downloaded on multiple computers? I have several children and they each use their own laptop for learning. Will I be able to download this program on each of their computers?
This product can be used on 2 computers and have 5 total users.
Q: How many lessons are in part 1? Will it cover one year of study?
This has 16 lessons and is equivalent to 1 year of foreign language study.
Q: If I have already used the product twice, is there something to purchase to enable me to use it again or is the entire product useless now? I have many children at different levels of learning.
You can install this on up to two computers, but each computer allows you to track up to five students. Your additional students simply need to have access to the computers on which you did the original two installations.
Q: Is one paperback workbook included or does it only come on CD to print out?
The workbook included in this kit is in a printable format. You can purchase the hardcopy as CBD stock number WW143526.
Q: Is this for beginning Spanish? My children are in 5th and 6th grade. They have been taught Spanish in public school beginning with Kindergarten. Is this going to be too easy for them since they have already had Spanish class. I am homeschooling them now and wish to continue with Spanish, but am unsure of what level they are at compared with the course.
Yes, this is beginning Spanish. Each level of Rosetta Stone is equivalent to one-year of study.
