What are the Amish really like? Why do they wear unusual clothes and preach against worldly wisdom? Find out in this true story of an Irish orphan who was raised by the Amish in central Pennsylvania in the 1800s. Follow Rosanna through childhood, youth, courtship, marriage, and child rearing.

See how her Amish lifestyle differs from that of her Catholic brothers and sisters when they visit from Philadelphia. Learn how the Amish take care of their own and even now maintain time-honored traditions. Recommended for ages 10 and up.

The story of Rosanna was very heartwarming. It tells of a women with great love and devotion to God and family. The extent of her love still exists in her family generations later as shown by the author. Very inspiring
