Jonathan BeckerBlue Springs, MOAge: 18-24Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5A great commentary!July 29, 2012Jonathan BeckerBlue Springs, MOAge: 18-24Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Schreiner has produced (in my opinion) a fantastic volume dealing with the message of Romans. Much in the work is to be appreciated:
1) He provides an overarching view of each passage, summarizing it as a whole before breaking it down. This allows us to see the big picture as well as the pieces that make it up.
2) He approaches the text from a conservative standpoint, assuming that Paul intended to write a consistent message. In doing so, he shows that one doesn't need to bend over backwards to see a coherency in Paul's thought.
3) He interacts with an overwhelming number of scholarly commentaries on Romans, never afraid to explain opposing views and interact with them.
