Tyce is the first child born on the Mars colony and he is writing journals while there so that others can hear about his experiences in case something happens to him and the rest of the colony. He is paralyzed from the waist down and since everyone on the Mars colony has to have a purpose his is to control a robot on Mars.
HomeSchool Mom of 4The Hot Dry DesertAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Really Cool, Totally Boyish FictionAugust 11, 2014HomeSchool Mom of 4The Hot Dry DesertAge: 25-34Gender: femaleI read this book in an effort to find something cool for my son to read when he's a little older. He's currently 7 and, while this would be a bit over his head, he's going to love this series in a couple years! The book gripped me from the start, as the story was being told from a robot's point of view. It was a great way to hook the reader! As the story slowly unfolded, the main character was an incredibly likable kid... flaws and all. I don't want to give away too much of the story, but if you've got a preteen son, I'm sure he'd enjoy this series! I have to say, I've seen some boys series that are just not cool enough (too sissified, to be precise)--we need more all-out boyish stuff like this!

He has to solve mysteries and learn about faith.
I thought this was a good story about an experimental colony on Mars. It is divided into two journals (which were previously published separately) and is an interesting look at possible life on Mars.

The story takes place during 2039 on Mars in an experimental colony. The main character is a 14 year old boy named Tyce Sanders who happens to be the first child born on the planet and uses a wheelchair. Like all teens, Tyce goes through hardships and has many questions, especially about his mothers faith in God. In this book, there are two separate stories that I found were entertaining enough to keep an adult reading, but I think this book would be well received by teen boys the most. It offers adventure, plot twisters, danger, and answers to some of the questions that teens wonder about especially about faith
