Rather than condemning Hollywood for its depravity and decrying all movies, these two film experts have taken a new look at the movies and help us evaluate them on a truly biblical scale.
PETER FRASER received his PhD in Literature with a specialization in Film and Popular Culture from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1990. Since then he has taught film and English at the undergraduate level and is currently at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee.
VERNON EDWIN NEAL is a freelance film critic whose reviews have appeared in newspapers for over a decade. His passion is to help Christians understand and evaluate contemporary films.

Tell us a little about yourself. For 30 years I have been doing film reviews, feature stories, and interviews with various stars and entertainers for newspapers in Wisconsin and Illinois.
What was your motivation behind this project? I felt that both Peter and myself were given talents from God to understand the way the film industry works and that we could pool our talents to write a book for Christian parents, teachers, pastors, and others to read.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Film is a powerful medium that influenes both Christian and non-Christian people. If people understand how films are made, how important the story line is, what kind of impact and impression that films can leave on children, you can better judge what is being offered for your entertainment.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Some people that have been a great influence in my writing career are Ms. Ethel Gintoff, Mr. Brian Niemiec, Mr. Max Alvarez, Ms. Val Albrecht, Mr. James Limbacher, Ms. Anne Blair, Pastor Dennis Kleist, and Ms. Jean Nelson. Some of my favorite authors are Mr. Donald Bogle, Mr. R.A. Salvatore.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I love watching films and getting into discussions about them. It is always a challenge to find out what people think about films. Their comments will often surprise you.
