Best study book on Revelation
I was astonished at the depth of Dr. Morris' Revelation Record. There are literally hundreds of cross references to scripture throughout the entire Bible explaining and illuminating the prophecy of Revelation. It took a long time to read and contemplate, but worth every second. After completing Dr. Morris' book, I reread the Book of Revelation in my Bible and it was significantly clearer to me than ever before. I have loaned this book to a friend, but can't wait to get it back and read it again!

getting revelation incorrect
in order to correctly interpret and understand a literary work, one must understand the type of literary genre it is, and then 'read' it accordingly. Revelation is an apocalyptic genre from ancient times (the ancient Greco/Roman/Judaistic/NearEast), and as such, must be understood, read, interpreted and applied accordingly. This book simply gets it all wrong, as he does not seem to grasp the nature of Revelation according to the sort of literature it is from its own time and place. for a much more responsible and sober treatment of Revelation (and apocalyptic) , try: Revelation and The End of All Things by Craig Koester; The Throne the Lamb and The Dragon by Paul Spilsbury and also In God's Time by Craig Hill.

Dr. Morris has done a great job on this commentary as he did on The Genesis Record and his many other books. Much can be gleamed from this work.
