Author Bio

Dr. Don Colbert is a board-certified family practice medical doctor who specializes in nutritional medicine, treating over 17,000 patients. Since 1984, Dr. Colbert has helped thousands of patients regain good health and live pain free after years of suffering. A graduate of Oral Roberts School of Medicine, he has received extensive training in nutritional medicine. As a result, he has founded and developed his own nutritional supplement line, Divine Health Nutritional Products. Dr. Colbert also co-hosts Golden Eagle Network's "Your Health Matters" with his wife, Mary. They frequently lead health seminars at home and abroad, the address health and nutrition issues as guests on national talk shows and news broadcasts. I purchased and read this book at the recommendation of a good friend. While I agree with Colbert's basic assertion that we need to eat healthier and avoid added chemicals, he goes off the deep end with a myriad of recommendations for organic food, juices, and other products to add to our diets. This title would have been MUCH better had he kept things simpler, not overwhelming the reader with so many radical changes. Colbert's work here is definitely Christian in content and tone, but I deeply appreciate that perspective. In fact, the best part of the book is the final section "Detoxing Your Whole Person," which gives detailed instructions on the many benefits of spiritual fasting. I plan to keep the book in my library simply because of this important section. This title isn't for everyone. If you're looking for some new, unashamedly Christian insights on improving your diet and taking care of your body however, you'll find something of use here. August 11, 2007

I loved this book. I found it very uplifting & informative most of all. I would recommend purchasing this book & praying for strength to follow one or several of the fastings suggested. I'm certainly going to pursue this mainly for spiritual growth.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. June 23, 2004

This book is excellent! It presents balanced information of the health effects of what we eat, and how to cleanse our bodies in order to actually cure diseases and conditions that are brought on through the toxic effects of our diet, and other substances we ingest, breathe or absorb through the skin. It also gives good information on the spiritual effects of various forms of fasting. I highly recommend this book! The information it contains has changed my life! A pastor friend of ours who almost died from thyroid cancer that kept recurring, as well as a stroke that debilitated him, used these methods, and still uses them. He is in his early 60's, and looks as if he is in his early 40's, and bursting with health, strength and vitality. His spiritual life and the life of his church has also burst open with health, strength and vitality! I was so impressed that I looked into all this for myself. I'm sold, and you will be too!
