Reflections from the Powder Room is a fun but thoughtful discussion of The Love Dare as seen through the diva senses of four diverse women. This unofficial companion guide exposes the real-life side of The Love Dare's 40-day challenge with good clean fun, kitchen-table wisdom, and painfully profound truth.
You will enjoy the light and lively banter about The Love Dare book, but also about:
- Relationships--good, bad, ugly.
- Life and love--lost and found.
- Family life--functional and dysfunctional.
- Their quirky selves.
Whether married, about to be married, divorced, or never been married, these conversations will keep you smiling long after you have closed the Powder Room door behind you.
Writers Shae Cooke, Tammy Fitzgerald, Donna Scuderi, and Angela Rickabaugh Shears hail from the East Coast to the Rockies and British Columbia, each bringing a unique and fun perspective to life and love. From a current ghost writer training for menopause, to a 2o something who is looking for her life's career, to a former 60s child turned Charismatic believer, to a happily married 50 something loving life, the reflections they share with you tare as heart felt as they are genuine. You'll enjoy sitting with them awhile in the The Powder Room of Life.
Publisher Information: About the Book
What's more fun than reading a book? Discussing it with friends...or even strangers who become friends!
Four of us happened upon The Powder Room, an on-line reading place where women discuss, dissect, and dish out some diverse thoughts about best-selling books.
A book is not only a friend - it makes friends when people are drawn into a conversation about it. Although as different from each other as colors of lipstick, hair, and fingernail polish, we felt a divine connect through humor, personality quirks, and a common desire to gain momentum toward our God-given destiny.
We decided to review books written by those who have traveled similar roads and triumphed, or who have taken different directions and found transformation in areas of spirituality, setbacks, and relationships. We try on the principles and teachings in the book for size and fit, and then share what works or doesn't.
As an eclectic group of animated and transparent women, ours becomes a journey of tears and fears, laughter and joy, as we find the courage to rise above the bling to find God's pearls of wisdom and truth. As we search for answers and insight in the mall...err...halls of our dreams, many times the book being reviewed becomes our catalyst.
We had fun with our online discussions and decided to share our banter, "deep" thoughts, and yada-yada-yada. For those of you who don't have time to read a good book - read it through us! Of course we rambled a bit throughout, but that's the great thing about friends, right?
Reflections from The Powder Room add dimension, weight, and fun to fabulous worthwhile reads! The Love Dare is the first book in the Powder Room Series. Calgon, take us away!
Vicki Hack4 Stars Out Of 5July 25, 2010Vicki HackI am enjoying reading this book alongside The Love Dare, but I am not finding that it adds to the challenge at all. It is simply an enjoyable read. I would not recommend buying it alone - each chapter assumes you have read the corresponding chapter of The Love Dare.
