I used this devotional for 2009 and found it wonderful. Brennan Manning's understanding of Grace and relationship with God is amazing. I was challenged, encouraged, and enlightened. Be prepared to use a dictionary since his vocabulary will stretch you. Recommend it for all Ragamuffins.

You can't help but weep when reading Manning's books. The way he writes about God's mercy and grace goes straight to your heart - especially when you realize we are all ragamuffins!

Short and introspective devotionals
based on Scripture, giving insight
into how to apply the Word of God
to everyday real life.
Jesus walked this earth ministering
to the ragamuffins of His day, and
this book can touch those of us who
are the ragamuffins of the "here
and now"...those of us who live our
lives in the raw and bare-boned way
we deal with reality, looking
to Jesus to guide us through what
we think is unbearable.
I've given away three of these books
to friends who have picked up mine
and couldn't put it down...I had
to finally buy one that I could
hide in my backpack to read whenever
I needed Brennan Manning's pensive
portrayal of the gospel.
